About The School

The Sudanese Supplementary School was established as a small mother-tongue class in September 1991.Its first base was at the Hallfield Primary School, Queensway. In 1994 , it was registered as a supplementary school with the Charity Commission-No. 1040959 and moved due to expansion to North Westminster School Upper House, London W2. And in 1998 with enrollment exceeding 300 pupilsv we found our current premises courtesy of City of Westinster College, Paddington Green. We are grateful to all of them for their unfailing co-operation over the years.

Sudanese School offers professional teaching to children from the Sudanese community in Westminster and some neighbouring local education authoritiers, as well as providing an important network for parents and families, many of whom are new to life in London. The school operates on 36 Saturdays throughout term each academic year.

Lessons start at 10am, there is a 30 minute break for lunch and lessons end at 2pm , for music and sports activities to take place until 4pm. There are a full range of lessons in English, Maths, Arabic and Cultural Studies.

Music is now part of the curriculum: cultural events and sports activities are organised  regularly; there are occasional  lectures for parents and friends on Sudanese history and aspects of art, music and culture from Sudan.
