 " Celebrating 100 Years of Women Education in Sudan"

This year the Annual Cultural Day was dedicated to celebrating 100 years of Women Education in Sudan { 1907- 2007 }.It was held on Saturday 21St July in the Camden Centre, central London.Over one thousand people were in attendance and special guests included Gasim Badri, President of Ahfad University for Women ( Sudan ), Griselda Eltayeb,MBE , Rod Usher first graduate VSO to go to  teach in Sudan in 1963, Zeinab Badawi of the BBC World tv.and a host of friends and supporters from VAW, City of Westminster Council , BBC Children In Need ,African and Arab Schools and communities from London and from far. who joined us


 Pupils Maha Raseed Abdelgadir and Ahmed Sharif Fadl welcomed the guests in English and Arabic. The programme included music and folklore dances from Sudanese, Eritrean and Ethiopian children and groups. Then Emmanuel Jal, the Sudanese hip-hop star, pop singer Husein Shendi from Khartoum took the stage.
